HISTORY OF NEW VISION COGIC
New Vision Church of God in Christ was founded as a place of reaching and teaching. It’s name originates from the New Testament Scriptures found in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things become new”, and Proverbs 29:18, “ Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
This foundation has taught us that we are to live for God each and every day in spite of our current circumstances or situations, and that through this living that God has provided promises and blessing to those that hold out and hold on.
It is also the place where the spirit of family is preached. For the family of God is bigger than just natural bloodlines, but is built upon spiritual bloodlines. The one’s that do the will of my father are my brothers and sisters.
Our church has become a place where the spirit of the Lord can be felt and enjoyed. Each service is designed to aid and strengthen our belief and understanding of God. From our Tuesday Night Bible Study to our Sunday Morning Worship Service, the spirit of the Lord is empathized and felt. Our mission is simple, to develop a right now spirit of compassion, and a priority to reach the un-churched and the unsaved.
May 2009, God gave Pastor Feggins the name of the ministry, (MyLen Ministries) and showed him the city of Byron. The signature scripture God gave for this ministry was 2 Corinthians 5:17.
August 2011, the Lord spoke to Missionary Feggins and Elder Feggins and said it was time for them to depart from New Hope Church of God In Christ, a church they had served faithfully for over 17 years.
October 2011, they did as God had commanded and joined Shiloh Ministries COGIC where they served faithfully for almost two years.
January 2012, the Lord impressed upon Elder & Missionary Feggins to start a Bible Study and they began on February 6, 2012 under the name of MyLen Ministries. It was decided that Tuesday nights would be better.
April 2013, the Lord spoke again to Pastor Feggins and told him it was time to step out and start a church. Upon discussing his intentions with Pastor Taylor, Elder and Missionary Feggins began praying for a church name. Because the signature scripture for the ministry was 2 Corinthians 5:17, that speaks about newness of life, they knew that the word New had to be part of the name. The Lord spoke and gave Provers 29:18, "Where there is no vision, the people parish. Therefore, New Vision was born.
June 2013, the Feggins departed Shiloh Ministries COGIC and began preparing for the opening service.
July 21, 2013, New Vision had their very first service at the Holiday Inn Express in Byron Georgia and the Lord showed up and blessed.
The church began with just Pastor and Missionary Feggins, but God has added to the Church.
In December 2014, God showed Pastor and Elect Lady Feggins favor in acquiring a store front building to hold worship services. On the 1st Sunday of January 2015, the 1st service was held.
